GOÄ billing helper for dermatology
Describe in a few sentences what was done in the session. The helper suggests matching GOÄ items – with official wording, amounts, exclusions and the text passage that triggered each suggestion.
Please note: Non-binding, automatically generated suggestions based on the official German fee schedule GOÄ (GOÄ as promulgated on 9 February 1996 (BGBl. I p. 210), last amended by Art. 3b of the Act of 19 July 2023 (BGBl. 2023 I No. 197)). They do not replace your own review; responsibility for selecting items, choosing the factor and writing the justification lies with the billing physician. No legal or billing advice. Your text is processed only in your browser and is neither transmitted nor stored. Please do not enter names or dates of birth.
How the helper works
- Recognises services in German free text with fixed rules (no AI) and maps them to GOÄ items – for 141 items common in dermatology.
- Checks official exclusions (e.g. no. 3 only alone or with no. 5–8, no. 2 only alone, wound dressing as part of surgery) and explains why something is not suggested.
- Always proposes the threshold factor and shows the range up to the maximum. Above the threshold a written, case-specific justification is required (§ 12(3) GOÄ) – the helper deliberately provides no text templates.
- Analogous valuations (§ 6(2) GOÄ) are never added automatically, only shown as “possible, check”.
- If information is missing (duration, number, area, time), the helper asks instead of guessing.
All 141 items with official wording, points and fees are listed in the item overview. Background on dermoscopy (German): GOÄ guide to dermoscopy.
Applies to private medical services under the GOÄ; not to statutory health insurance (EBM). New GOÄ: the German Medical Association considers entry into force on 1 January 2028 realistic. Official wording and points: gesetze-im-internet.de; amounts = points × €0.0582873 × factor (§ 5(1) GOÄ). Data checked: 09/10/2026.
